A Cell Phone Lot is where a limousine or a person picking up an arriving passenger could wait for this passenger or passengers to arrive and then receive a cell phone call stating they are ready to be picked up. By having limousines and other vehicles parked at the Cell Phone Lot, an airport can keep their terminal entrances free from parked vehicles and allow for safety vehicles or emergency vehicles to obtain a space to park when necessary.

Cell Phone Parking Lots are usually a designated area within the short-term parking area or a long-term parking area and is not very far from the arriving terminals.
