For Limousine Pickups use the Cell Phone Lot at Pearson Airport

Due to new safety regulations, a limousine can not wait outside an arriving terminal for a passenger, it is illegal to park a car for any length of time outside the terminal. However there is a safe and legal alternative. This alternative is called the Cell Phone Lot in which a limousine and its driver can wait for a passenger arriving at the Pearson Airport. This is a short-term parking area that provides limousine drivers a safe and legal place to park for up to an hour and wait for their incoming passengers. And like the title says, the cell phone Lot is where limousine drivers wait for a cell phone call from their incoming passengers stating they have arrived at the terminal and are waiting to be picked up.

The Cell Phone Lot is located on Network Drive just north of the airport between America Drive and Highway 409. The Cell Phone Parking Lot provides the perfect alternative to waiting in front of the terminal where it could become congested with cars and limousines and passengers with their luggage all trying to enter waiting vehicles. Additionally limousines are bigger longer vehicles and take up more space than ordinary vehicles therefore it is necessary for them to play Cell Phone Lot for their passengers.

While waiting in the Cell Phone Lot a vehicle must never be left unattended, and the engine must be turned off. The Cell Phone Lot has spaces for 50 cars and allows each vehicle park for a maximum of 60 minute. However if your incoming passenger’s plane has been delayed, there are exceptions to this 60 minute waiting rule.

There are other parking options besides the Cell Phone Lot if a limousine driver wants to wait inside the terminal for their passengers. There is short-term parking near the terminals and the GTAA’s Reduced Rate Parking Lot. A limousine driver could park in one of these parking lots in order to wait for their passengers inside the terminals of the airport.

Having a limousine pickup a passenger makes more sense than having friends and family picked up a passenger because a limousine driver will load the luggage and make sure the passenger gets to where they are going at the proper time. Limousine’s are less hassle then trying to find a friend or family member willing to go to the airport to pick you up or drop you off.

So take the aggravation of having a friend or family member take time out of their busy schedule or off work and choose a limousine to pick you up at the airport with just a cell phone call away.
